Botanical name:Vitis x californica 'Roger's Red'

This plant is a woody deciduous vine with round large leaves. The flowers are in small fragrant blooms and berry clusters appear in the summer. This vine has sprawling , climbing growth habit. It is a selection with outstanding fall color. NOTE: If you live close or next to a channel, please consider NOT planting Vitis as it can smother trees and clog channels.

California Fescue

Botanical name:Festuca californica

The California Fescue is a cool season bunchgrass with blue-green blades that reach 2' high. The violet colored flower stalks are 5' tall, appearing in spring and summer, creating fountain-like clumps. This grass is drought tolerant for sun and shade although it looks better with additional summer water. The California fescue is a beneficial insect plant. Plant on dry sunny slopes or on the edge of a dry creek bed.

Botanical name:Baccharis pilularis 'Pigeon Point'

'Pigeon Point' Coyote Bush is a compact, evergreen ground cover that grows 18"- 24" tall and 10'-12' wide. Its leaves are green; it has white flowers that bloom in the fall but they are not overly dramatic. It is important to plant this ground cover at least 6'-8' apart. Otherwise they will overgrow each other and begin to pile upwards. 'Pigeon Point' is tolerant of ocean spray and is deer resistant.
