This clumping perennial will grow less than 1' tall and has narrow, blue green leaves. Clusters of lavender flowers bloom in spring and summer. Leaves and flowers have a distinct onion or garlic smell if crushed.

This perennial will reach about 3' tall and has large green leaves with orange flowers that bloom in summer and fall. This plant can spread by seeds dispersed in the wind and by rhizomes. It is attracted to bogs and marshes. If you live close to these type of areas, it's best not to plant red hot poker.

This mounding shrub reaches 3 ft. high and up to 5ft. wide with fine silver foliage. It does well in coastal areas as well as inland warm areas. It rarely blooms but is used for its beautiful foliage. It is striking next to perennials with bright colors. This shrub prefers full sun and well draining soil. It is drought tolerant once it's established.

Purple Carpet Creeping Thyme

Botanical name:Thymus polytrichus britannicus

This perennial will grow about 3" tall and 3' wide. It has small, dark green leaves with clusters of purple/lavender flowers that bloom in spring and summer. Leaves are fragrant when crushed, can be used for seasoning.

Olive

Botanical name:Olea europaea

This broad tree will slowly grow to 20'-30' tall and wide. It has small, grey-green, evergreen leaves. Small white fragrant flowers bloom in spring, followed by fleshy black fruit that appears in fall. Fruit is messy and can stain sidewalks. Do not plant near open spaces as it can spread via birds and mammals. If you live adjacent to a channel, please do not plant this tree as it could clog the channel.
