Description
This densely growing evergreen shrub quickly reaches 10-15' tall and wide. It has a mounding habit in full sun but will grow irregularly in deep shade. Prune to ideal size and shape. Leaves are simple, ruffled on edges, with large yellow centers and green margins. Underside of leaf has translucent spots giving a silver look. Armed with dull spines. Silvery white, small, fragrant flowers appear in late fall and early winter. This variety usually has no fruit. This shrub tolerates full sun to full shade. It prefers well draining soil and is drought and poor soil tolerant once it's established. It can grow in coastal areas. A great shrub for erosion control, hillsides, barriers.
