This perennial will grow 1' tall and 1.5' wide. It has blue green foliage and lavender flowers that bloom in spring and summer. This is a great plant for coastal gardens. In inland areas, it prefers afternoon shade. Little or no water needed during summer in coastal gardens but will need extra water in other areas. This plant attracts butterflies. It tolerates wind.

Compact Gold Coin is a water efficient, daisy-like, woody-based, short-lived perennial. Its gold flowers appear in spring and summer but may bloom intermittently at other times. It can tolerate heat as long as it has well draining soil and infrequent watering. It may be used in desert areas if given afternoon shade and moderate amount of water in summer.

Another one of the easiest and most versatile California native plants. This is a hybrid penstemon; will produce beautiful purple/blue flowers through much of the year when spent flowers are removed. Foliage grows in low growing mats to 6-8"H x 12-18"W.
