Phyllostachys bambusoides
Giant Timber Bamboo
Description
Phyllostachys bamusoides is a giant grass. In a controlled environment, it grows 6-10 ft. high. In an uncontrolled enviroment, it grows 10-20 ft. high. Dense foliage makes it a good screen or hedge. Can take much drought but looks better with regular water. If your property is adjacent to a channel, please consider NOT planting this bamboo as it can end up clogging the channel or suffocating trees. Or consider planting in containers.
