Heuchera 'Wendy'
Wendy Alum Root
Description
Heuchera 'Wendy' is a perennial native that prefers dry, shady conditions. They thrive under native oak trees or in similar situations. Once established, they require virtually no care other than removal of the dead flowers after bloom in the spring. They are most effectively shown when planted in mass. This perennial can reach 2' tall and wide. Evergreen leaves are large, rounded and light green. Tiny pink flowers on thin wiry stalks above foliage are very attractive. It tolerates clay soil but does best in well draining soil. Established plants are drought tolerant. Can be planted near the coast. Hummingbirds love this plant. See this plant in the meadows of Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden.
