Bougainvillea 'Barbara Karst'
Bougainvillea
Description
The large amount of flamboyant color on this species creates a wonderful accent in a garden. 'Barbara Karst' is a hardy and reliable vine, blooming bright red from spring through fall, sometimes even in winter in mild climates. It looks best in full sun and is drought tolerant once it's established. The color changes to a dull red if in shade. It tolerates coastal and desert conditions. This is a versatile plant as it can be used to grow up trellises and patio covers or used on a hillside. Foliage is dark green and evergreen but hardly visible.
