Gaura lindheimeri 'Whirling Butterflies'
Whirling Butterflies White Gaura
Description
'Whirling Butterflies" is a profusely flowering perennial that grows 3' tall and wide. It has pink buds that open to showy white flowers (larger than other cultivars) in spring through summer. It needs full sun in most areas but afternoon shade in desert areas. It needs regular watering in desert areas but will become drought tolerant in non-desert regions. It appreciates sandy or loamy soil that is well draining. This is a great plant for cut flowers, flower borders and containers. Stems are arching and red. With soft breezes, flowers appear to dance like whirling butterflies! Does appreciate some water during hot spells. Leaves are tiny and narrow.
